A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY CREATIVE BACKGROUND AND STYLE…

I went Rutgers University from 2008-2010, where I followed a major in nursing. I had taken 1 or 2 photography courses. And that was just to fill my art electives up and instantly fell in love with composition and the technical aspects of photography. Even though the classes were only electives and not related my my major, I knew it was more than just a hobby. I wanted to learn more about photography. I started incorporating what I had learned in my photography and graphic design coures into my new hobby. A few months later, a couple I went to school with asked if I would shoot their engagement pictures and from that I started to get referrals to photograph several families, children, and engagements. Word of mouth was how I gained experience. Which is why I refuse to ever pay for advertising.  Social media, referrals, and trade have been suprisingly effective in gaining business and great clients!  In 2012 and 2013, I shot and assisted with 20 weddings in the South Jersey, Philadelphia area. This year I plan on focusing on weddings, portraits, and continue to learn, grow, criticize, and develop my style of photography, which I would describe as unique, fun, and timeless. I am always searching for new and fun ideas. I try to use as many natural, unposed, candid material as possible. Each photo is as unique as the people in them.

ABOUT

I started my own business, TTS Photo Design LLC (previously Time to Sparkle Photography), in November of 2011. I changed the business TTS Photo Design LLC DBA Time to Sparkle Photography in January 2014. The new branding and new name was just the thing I needed to expand on the ideas I had for the future. I love everything about photography, from the first consultation where I get to meet and learn about my clients, to making people laugh, have fun, and show their true personalities during the shoot, and then handing them the final project. I attend several photography meetings and workshops with other local photographers.  Currently, I am enrolled in 3 courses at the New York Institute of Photography and jump on the chance to take local workshops.. I feel that you can never stop learning. (I'm a nerd, I know!). I'm my own worst enemy in the fact that I am never happy with my work. I don’t want to be better than anyone else, I just want to be better than I am now. I know that the more I learn more, the more  I can produce higher quality images. My most recent educational venture has been workshops and distance courses via webinars. Many photography stores in Philadephia offer really great workshops at decent prices! If you ever want to learn, this is an excellent way to do it! It is very challenging but one heck of a learning experience! It hasn’t been at all easy balancing everything in my life, it has required an immense amount of time, energy, and patience, but I know I would not be where I am today had it not been for this investment. I've gone nights where I've cried myself to sleep, months when I couldn't pay a bill, and times where I wanted to give up on not only my business- but life in general. And from all of that I can tell you, I am a very positive person. I've endured by fair share of trouble, trials, tests, and setbacks. None of which have changed who I am. If anything, I've learned and gained character through all my struggles and errors. I am a motivated person. NOTHING and NO ONE will stand in my way.  I've built my business on the rocks thrown by others and that’s what makes me stronger, unique, and determined. A current situation and side project that I have been asked to be a part of, have taken up a lot of my time. I am very excited and over the moon happy to be a part of it. The project is a combined group of 3 other photographers from different fields. Together we will help each other, learn from each other, and offer clients a wide variety of services. That old quote “when one door closes, another is opened”…I am living proof that is true.  Life is one heck of a ride and I am super excited for what my future holds, bumpy roads or not!
